PRINCIPAL REPORT: THURSDAY, 8/17/23

GENERAL INFORMATION:

We held registration on Wednesday- August 9th.  Once again, we had Registration paperwork on the website and available in July for families to pick up beforehand.  Thanks to Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Burke for their hard work to get this pulled off!! 

Preliminary enrollment numbers:

• PK:  8 Students

• K-6:  59 Students 

• 7-12: 68 Students

Teacher work days were August 8th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 22nd.  Topics and trainings included:

• Elementary and High School Staff Meetings

• Mandatory Yearly Compliance Trainings

• Coaches Mandatory Trainings

• Work in room time.

• CSIP review.

Discussions:

• Enforcing the cell phone policy-no cell phones during class time for anything.

• Grade reporting-one grade per week

• Evaluation process

• Flattened leadership and shared decision making.

   

Back to School night- Tuesday, August 22nd-This will be open house style from 5:00-6:30. 
School starts Wed. - August 23rd.  Early outs on August 23, 24 and 25.  HS Will have all classes for 20 minutes on August 23 shortened schedule, Morning classes on August 24th and Afternoon Classes on August 25th.   We will use the afternoon time for some additional trainings and Active Shooter Training put on by Devon Sons.

Picture day- Wednesday, August 30th.
There has been regular communication with all DC students and their families. We currently have seven dual enrollment students enrolled in five different courses from NCMC and NWMSU.
